Merry Christmas!!!!!!! 🎄 It may be a dreary, snow-less day where I live, but I still find the feeling of the season infectious. Here’s hoping all of you found a little joy in your lives too today - and maybe a book or few under the tree 😉Again, Merry Christmas, my fellow bookworms, and happiest of holidays to anyone who celebrates something different ❤️
Working my way through WINDWITCH by Susan Dennard (TRUTHWITCH was ~amazing~ so I’m hoping for the same) but I still can’t wait to start foray into the Grishaverse with the next book on my TBR, SHADOW AND BONE by Leigh Bardugo! . What are your thoughts on the Grisha books?
New post on my blog today! My Summer TBR is loaded and at the ready. One of the books on there I’m most excited about is the sequel to A NIGHT IN WITH AUDREY HEPBURN by Lucy Holliday. A comedy/romance about a failing actress who, spurred on by her strangely alive favourite cinema goddess, gets involved with the onscreen heartthrob, the book is both exactly what I’m into and a little outside my MO (I love these romances, but not always the comedy-heavy). It was HILARIOUS - all of Libby’s misfortunes and mistakes had me cackling. The sequel follows Libby’s new relationship, but with help this time from the flirtatious Marilyn Monroe. . Any good rom-com books you’ve read recently?
Currently reading UNHOOKED by Lisa Maxwell, a dark and twisted tale of Peter Pan! Life’s been chaotic so I’ve been having some trouble finding time to get into it, but I have hopes once I have some downtime it’ll pick up 😊 #letsdothis . . How do juggle reading and bookstagramming your other commitments?
Found this gem of a duology on my shelf while reorganizing last week! I rated the first, THE WITCH HUNTER, 5 stars on goodreads but somehow completely forgot about it 😱 THE KING SLAYER is the magical, Elizabethan sequel - can’t wait to jump back into this world of revenants and witches and warriors and pirates all over again 😁 . Have you ever forgotten about a book you loved??
I’M BACK!!! Happy Summer, bookaholics - school kind of killed my reading and photo-taking, but uni’s out and I’m home ‘till September, ready to jump back in. THE DIVINERS by Libba Bray is something I started excited about (ya know, back in 2012 when it came out...) but it has thus far failed to excite me. It’s so pretty though! And a supernatural murder mystery in 1920s NYC has got to pick up at some point. So here’s to second chances! . What books have you given a second chance?
Happy Hump Day, bookworms!!! I'm probably gonna be a little terrible with posting for the next while until I get a handle on all my uni stuff but I swear! I'm working on it! I was tagged by @shesgoingbookcrazy to do the #myfirstbook tag (thank you, thank you!!!). Quite tragically, all of my beloved childhood Rainbow Fairy books are gone so instead I'm using the series that got me into reeeally reading, that obsessive reading that inspired my handle. I read the first Gallagher Girls book by @theallycarter, I'D TELL YOU I LOVE YOU BUT THEN I'D HAVE TO KILL YOU back in 6th grade and absolutely fell in love. Badass teenage girls training to be spies at an exclusive academy? Yes please I love romance, I love contemporary, I love espionage and secrets and suspense, and this is the series that sucked me into all of it. Plus as the girl in the corner who no one noticed but noticed everything, I identified so much with Cammie. I thought I was an avid reader before, but it's nothing compared to what I've become since opening that first chapter. . What book made you love reading? . Sept 27 #septinbooks17 cover with your fave colour - blue #helloautumnseptember17 childhood read #beastlybooksseptember17 Elide: strong women #harrypotter4everbookchallenge favourite book (well, one of...) #bndtpsept17 girl power
HELLOOOOOOOO!!!!!! I am back, after like two weeks of nothing! Sorry about that, guy; I'm back at university and I just haven't had the time or the resources for the photo taking. Plus I'm sick, which is just icing on the suck cake. But imma do my best to post when I can!!! . I was tagged by the lovely @_in_a_world_of_my_own to do the #colourbooktag with the colour pink! This is all very exciting to me since this is MY FIRST EVER TAG 😱Aaaaaaanyway, THE FILL IN BOYFRIEND by Kasie West is adorable and romantic and, again, by Kasie West (whose contemporaries I absolutely LOVE, especially THE DISTANCE BETWEEN US so everyone should go read them. Right now). Thank you again so so much for tagging me; here are my nominees: @page_eater @effortlessly_ellie @theheirofhufflepuff_ @abookishbrain @reading_with_belle (Hopefully you haven't done it yet). Your colour is: GREEN. Can't wait to see them! 😁 . I meant to post this yesterday so we're just gonna pretend and use those challenges instead... September 17: #lunibookphotoseptember17 Cotton Candy: a cute book #thereadersbooknook Relationship Goals #bndtpsept17 Let the Ship Sail: couple on the cover #karysseptember Selena Delune: side character appreciation - the sister is bomb 👌 #beastlybooksseptember17 Rowan: bookish hearts - sorta 😜 . #bookstagram #bookstagrammer #bookstagramchallenge #fallreading #backtoschool #romance #contemporaryromance #thefillinboyfriend #kasiewest #pinkbooks #pink #bookjunkie #booknerd #booktag #bookworm #bookdragon
What do you get when a genius, a vampire hunter, and a time traveler walk into a museum? The mismatched masterpiece of A CLOCKWORK SCARAB by Colleen Gleason, of course! This has been on my TBR foreeeeeeever and I only recently ended up reading it (big surprise there!). Now? It is probably the most beautiful hodgepodge of craziness I have ever read! Sherlock Holmes? ✔️Vampire hunter? ✔️Resurrected Egyptian goddess? ✔️An alternate steampunk Victorian London?✔️All tied together in a murder mystery/romance. It's wonderfully weird and I loved it! 😁 Review to come. . QOOTD: What's your favourite murder mystery? . September 4: #septinbooks17 Series You'd Recommend - okay technically I've only read the first one but I still think y'all should read it 😉 #weallfloatchallenge Friendship #greekaddictdiarieschallenge First book in a series #booksofdawn17 Cover love - I love the gold!
